Guernsey Reservoir

Guernsey Dam and Reservoir were approved as part of the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (USBR) North Platte Project in 1925. Guernsey is the farthest downstream Federal reservoir on the North Platte River in Wyoming. The original Guernsey Reservoir storage capacity has decreased significantly since construction as a result of sediment deposition. Guernsey Powerplant, which was constructed between 1925 and 1928, is located just below Guernsey Dam. The powerplant is operated when irrigation water is released from the reservoir. More information regarding Guernsey Dam and Reservoir is available in the following table.
