Municipal and Domestic Water Use: Community Public Conjunctive Water Use Systems

 
 

Based on information gathered from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), the City of Cheyenne relies on a combination of surface water and groundwater sources to supply water to a population of at least 65,000 people. This type of system is referred to as a ôconjunctive useö system. The Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities obtains surface water from several sources and groundwater from 39 wells. The following table summarizes the conjunctive water usage within the South Platte subbasin.
