Industrial Water Use

Industrial use of water in WyomingÆs Platte River Basin consists of approximately 75 percent groundwater use and 25 percent surface water use. The miscellaneous industry sector is the largest permitted industrial water consumer in the Horse Creek subbasin. The second largest subbasin water consumer, the oil exploration, refining and reclamation industry, is permitted to use only approximately 2 percent as much as the quantity of water that the miscellaneous industry is permitted to use.
