Municipal and Domestic Water Use: Domestic Water Use

United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) records indicate that there are two non-community public water systems within the Horse Creek subbasin, and groundwater is utilized to meet demand for both of these systems. The USEPA reports that the population served by these systems is 200 people. A highway rest area and a bar utilize 100 percent of public non-community groundwater demand in the Horse Creek subbasin. These systems are located in Goshen and Laramie Counties.

The total number of rural domestic wells in the Horse Creek subbasin is estimated to be approximately 694. This indicates approximately 1,697 people are served by rural domestic groundwater wells in the subbasin. The following table shows the estimated breakdown of rural domestic water use per county within the subbasin. As seen by clicking here, 74.9 percent of subbasin rural domestic water supplies are derived from wells located in Goshen County.
