AVANT (VAN ALSTINE-WALKER) DITCH

DIVERSION DESCRIPTION

Two 2' screwtype sliding metal gates in concrete headwall.

DIVERSION LOCATION

Source: Nowood River
N 61E 35' E, 851' from corner no.5 of Tract 50, Township 49N, Range 91W.

CONVEYANCE DESCRIPTION

Open dirt ditch 7 1/2 miles long delivering water to approximately 1700 acres (including lands originally served by the Avant, Secesh, and Dyke ditches) using portions of those original ditches as laterals adding another approximately 3 miles of ditch. Ditch serves 8 users and has an approximate capacity of 30 c.f.s.

CONVEYANCE DESCRIPTION

Open dirt ditch 2 1/2 miles long to first split. East branch adds another 0.5 miles on the East side of Nowood River and delivers to 70 acres. West branch crosses the Nowood River in a 120' flume then courses approximately 3 milesfurther West with 4 major laterals irrigating approximately 500 acres in two ownerships. Ditch capacity ~ 15 c.f.s.
