Upper Wyoming Diversions

Hilliard East Fork: Flood Irrigated. Virtually all meadow grasses (mostly Meadow Foxtail)

Lannon & Lone Mountain: Flood Irrigated. Virtually all meadow grasses similar to Hilliard East Fork

Hilliard West Side: Flood Irrigated. Virtually all meadow grasses similar to Hilliard East Fork

Bear Canal: Flood Irrigated. Virtually all meadow grasses similar to Hilliard East Fork

Crown and Pine Grove: Flood Irrigated. Virtually all meadow grasses similar to Hilliard East Fork

Evanston Water Supply (Included City demands prior to Construction of Evanston Pipeline): Flood Irrigated. Virtually all meadow grasses similar to Hilliard East Fork

Evanston Water Ditch: Flood Irrigated. Mostly meadow grasses similar to Hilliard East Fork. There is some alfalfa in the Yellow Creek area tied to a 1950 water right. They rely on reservoir water for the second cutting of alfalfa.

Rocky Mtn & Blyth: Flood Irrigated. Virtually all meadow grasses similar to Hilliard East Fork.

John Sims: Flood Irrigated (was 25% +/- alfalfa ten years ago w/ two cuttings. Now single crop, about 10%). Oats about 10-12%. Remainder is meadow grasses.

S.P. (Ramsey): Flood Irrigated except for about 80 acres sprinkled. Mostly meadow grasses similar to Hilliard East Fork. Sprinkled acreage is alfalfa.

Chapman Canal: Flood Irrigated. Virtually all meadow grasses similar to Hilliard East Fork with some (less than 10%) alfalfa

Morris Brothers Irrigation (Lower): Flood Irrigated. Virtually all meadow grasses similar to Hilliard East Fork

Tunnel: Flood Irrigated. Virtually all meadow grasses similar to Hilliard East Fork

Francis Lee: Flood Irrigated. Virtually all meadow grasses similar to Hilliard East Fork

Bear River Canal (Below Woodruff Narrows): Flood Irrigated. Virtually all meadow grasses similar to Hilliard East Fork

Lower Wyoming Diversions

Goodell (on Pine Creek): Circular Pivots with some side-roll sprinklers. Mostly alfalfa.

V.H. Canal (on Pine Creek): Circular Pivots with some flood irrigation (10% +/-). Mostly alfalfa.

Quinn Bourne (on Smiths Fork): Flood Irrigated. Virtually all pasture meadow grasses.

Button Flat (on Smiths Fork): Flood Irrigated. Approx. 20% Meadow Grasses, 80% alfalfa and oats (rotated)

Emelle (on Smiths Fork): Flood Irrigated. Approx. 15% Meadow Grasses, 85% alfalfa and grains (primarlily oats – crops rotated)

Cooper (on Smiths Fork): ): Flood Irrigated. Virtually all pasture meadow grasses

Covey (on Smiths Fork) – NOTES: Covey Canal diversions are cumulative at each location
Covey (at Bruner Creek) - Covey serves Smiths Fork Irr. District
Covey (on Spring Creek)

Covey Canal serves the Smiths Fork Irrigation District. Irrigation application is mixed flood, handline, and side-roll sprinklers. Mixed crop types including meadow grasses, grain, and alfalfa.

Whites Water (on Smiths Fork): Everything on west side of highway is flood irrigated, everything on east side of highway is sprinkled using side-rolls and hand lines. Approx. 30% Meadow Grasses, 70% alfalfa and grains (primarlily oats) – crops rotated

South Branch Irrigating (on North Channel of Smiths Fork): Approx. 30% is flood Irrigated, 70% sprinkled using hand lines and side-rolls. Mostly alfalfa and grains (primarlily oats – crops rotated)

Alonzo F. Sights: ): Approx. 60% is flood Irrigated, 40% sprinkled using hand lines and side-rolls. Approx. 40% alfalfa and grains (primarlily oats – crops rotated). Remainder is meadow grasses.

Oscar E. Snyder: Flood Irrigated. Virtually all pasture meadow grasses

Cook Brothers: Flood Irrigated. Virtually all pasture meadow grasses with small amount of alfalfa & oats.

Other Lower Wyoming Key Structures

B.Q. Dam (incorporates B.Q West, B.Q. East, B.Q. McFarland, and Weston Pumps Diversions): "BQ" acreage is flood Irrigated -Virtually all pasture meadow grasses. Weston Pump acreage is sprinkled – Rotated alfalfa, oats, and barley.

Pixley Dam (Primary Compact Control Structure – 57% of water passing Pixley allocated to Idaho, 43% to Wyoming. Structure diverts water to Pixley east and west canals located immediately upstream)
