Northeastern Wyoming
River Basins Advisory Group

In March of 2000 the State Legislature authorized funding for the continuation of the Statewide Water Planning Process. Based on this authorization, the Wyoming State Water Planning Team continued the planning process in the Powder/Tongue and Northeast Wyoming River Basins. Both Basins were completed in February 2002. The Northeast Wyoming River Basins Final Plan may be viewed at the following URL: http://waterplan.state.wy.us/plan/newy/newy-plan.html

The Northeast Wyoming River Basin Plan continues to incorporate public participation from the Northeast Wyoming Basin Advisory Group. In the May 2000 inaugural meeting, the Basin Advisory Group was formed, representing a broad range of interests from agriculture to local government. This group continues to meet quartely to provide input on important water planning issues and assist with the water planning process. The meetings are open to the public, and all interested individuals are encouraged to attend.
