Green River Basin Advisory Group



The 1999 Legislature approved a new Statewide Water Plan beginning with the Green River and Bear River Basins in southwestern Wyoming. The Green River Basin Plan was completed in February, 2001 and incorporated monthly public participation from the Green River Basin Advisory Group . This group, composed of members from the Colorado River Basin Coordinating Council and additional interested citizens, reviewed planning products and delivered recommendations to the State Water Planning team. In 2007, the Legislature approved funding to commence another round of Basin Plans, beginning with the Green River Basin. For this study both surface water and ground water reousrces will be examined.

Since the completion of the original plan in 2001, the Green River Basin Advisory Group has continued to meet. The BAG will continue to meet three times a year until the plan is updated.
