DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION MEMORANDUM

BADGER DITCH

DIVERSION DESCRIPTION

Three 24" screwtype sliding steel gates in 8' concrete headwall.

DIVERSION LOCATION

Source: Clark's Fork River
S 29E 10' E, 777' from th NW corner Section 8 (o.s.), Township 56N, Range 102W, and is in Tract 45 of Section 8 (o.s.)

CONVEYANCE DESCRIPTION

Open dirt canal approximately 17 miles long delivering water to approximately 2100 acres and 15 users, including water carried to serve water rights under the old Myling and Green-Moore ditches. Canal has a spill gate approximately 3/4 miles downditch from headgate, and crosses Clark's Fork River 5 1/2 miles downditch in a recently re-constructed siphon. Ditch capacity ~ 75 c.f.s.

Two 4' sliding steel gates in concrete headwall.

S 81E 12' W, 2416' from the SE corner of Section 25, Township 58N, Range 102W, and is in the NW 1/4 NE 1/4 Section 36, Township 58N, Range 102W.

CONVEYANCE DESCRIPTION

Open dirt ditch 5 1/2 miles long, serving approximately 670 acres and 7 users. Ditch traverses rough badlands and requires considerable fluming and 500 feet of tunnel. Delivers to 274 acres across the state line in Montana. Ditch capacity is approximately 20 c.f.s.

INTERSTATE IRRIGATION AND MINING COMPANY DITCH

DIVERSION DESCRIPTION

One 8' manually operated sliding steel gate in concrete headwall.

DIVERSION LOCATION

NW 1/4 NE 1/4 Section 36, Township 58N, Range 102W, in Wyoming.

CONVEYANCE DESCRIPTION

Open earthen canal approximately 6 miles long. Ditch diverts from Clark's Fork Yellowstone River in Wyoming and runs approximately one mile before the Allen-Chance lateral splits off, siphons under the Clark's Fork River and runs one mile north into Montana for irrigation of 110 acres. The main ditch enters Montana approximately 1/2 mile below the Allen- Chance siphon and serves 1021 acres and 10 users all in Montana. Ditch capacity is approximately 40 c.f.s.

CONVEYANCE DESCRIPTION

Open earthen canal 8 miles long with three major laterals adding another 10 miles of ditch, serving approximately 3020 acres and 8 users. Ditch capacity is ~ 60 c.f.s. Approximately 184 acres are located across the state line in Montana.
