Concerning the Eden Valley lands and the irrigation project, Commissioner of Public Lands, R. P. Fuller, had this to say (from the Eden Valley Star):

"The land is a rich sandy loam, free from alkali and stones and will produce abundant crops of grains, grasses, fruits, and vegetables common to that latitude. Water for irrigating is obtained from the Big and Little Sandy Rivers and their tributaries, which head in the great water shed of the Wind River Range *** The water is distributed by means of an extensive canal system and elasticity of the supply is made by the installation of two great reservoirs impounding millions of cubic feet of water."
