Sub-Theme:Point Samples

Dataset Name: National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Database

Data Extent
Number of stations:NA*
Frequency: NA

Source Agency:Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality
Cheyenne, WY

Dataset Description:

The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) maintains a local database of National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permittees (individual and storm water) in the State of Wyoming. Such permitting allows for the regulation of direct discharges from municipal and industrial wastewater treatment facilities (point sources). Specific information stored in the database includes mailing address information, location data, inspection data, and other general information.

Dataset Utility:

The database contains information on more than 2,000 NPDES permittees in the State of Wyoming and is updated on a continuous basis. It should be noted that much of the information contained in this DEQ database is also resident on the US Environmental Protection Agency's Permit Compliance System (PCS) in a mainframe environment. See individual PCS data sheet for additional details. The NPDES database does not, however, contain the actual effluent data, compliance schedules, or enforcement information found in PCS. *Specific counts for this basin are not available.
