Locations of large Non-Federal Reservoirs in the Above Pathfinder subbasin can be seen on the following map. The two largest of these reservoirs are Rob Roy Reservoir, located on Douglas Creek in the Medicine Bow National Forest; and Hog Park Reservoir, located on Hog Park Creek in the Medicine Bow National Forest. These two reservoirs are key components of the City of Cheyenne municipal water supply system. Rob Roy Reservoir water is conveyed via a gravity pipeline through Lake Owen, also in the Medicine Bow National Forest, to Crystal and Granite Reservoirs on the east flank of the Laramie Range, and from these reservoirs to the City of Cheyenne water treatment plant. Water stored in Hog Park Reservoir, much of which comes from the Green River Basin via the Little Snake River Diversion Pipeline and Tunnel, is released to the North Platte River to replace Douglas Creek/Rob Roy Reservoir water that is used by the City of Cheyenne.
