Irrigated lands were divided into the following categories: Irrigated Lands, Sub-irrigated Lands, and Water Awards. All previously unmapped areas were assigned to either Irrigated Lands or Sub-Irrigated Lands based on the visual interpretation of Digital Ortho Quarter Quadrangles (DOQQs) and 1999 Landsat color-infrared satellite imagery. Identified lands were then transposed onto USGS 1:24,000-scale, 7.5 Minute Quadrangle maps, attributed with water rights, digitized and placed into an ArcView 3.2a shapefile. Verification of irrigated versus sub-irrigated lands occurred during the assignment of water right attributes. Previously mapped lands - obtained from the Wyoming State Engineer's Office - were then incorporated into the irrigated lands shapefile and assigned to the appropriate category based on existing attributes.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>Irrigated Lands designated as Future. Exported out of the main Irrigated lands dataset.
The irrigated lands dataset illustrates locations where permitted irrigated land exists within the Wind/Bighorn River Basin. The irrigated lands dataset was created specifically for use in the Wyoming Water Development Commission's Wind/Bighorn River Basins Plan. This dataset should not be used at scales greater than 1:24,000.
The irrigated lands were located and delineated by Lidstone and Associates of Fort Collins, Colorado, BRS, Incorporated of Riverton, Wyoming, and Donnell and Allred, Incorporated of Worland, Wyoming. All previously existing irrigated land information was obtained from the Wyoming State Engineer's Office. Irrigated lands water rights were determined by Water Rights Services, LCC of Cheyenne, Wyoming. The final irrigated land dataset was created by TriHydro Corporation of Laramie, Wyoming.Water Resources Data System (WRDS)Coordinator307-766-6651307-766-3785Wyoming Hall, Room 249University of WyomingLaramieWyoming82071USAwrds@uwyo.eduMonday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mountain Standard TimeWind/Bighorn River BasinHot Springs CountyPark CountyNatrona CountyBighorn River BasinWashakie CountyFremont CountyTeton CountyBighorn RiverWind River BasinWind RiverBig Horn CountyIrrigated LandsIrrigated AgricultureIrrigationirrigationWind/Bighorn River BasinHot Springs CountyIrrigated LandsPark CountyPark CountyNatrona CountyirrigationBighorn River BasinIrrigated AgricultureIrrigationNatrona CountyTeton CountyBighorn RiverWashakie CountyWind/Bighorn River BasinFremont CountyIrrigated LandsWashakie CountyTeton CountyIrrigationBighorn RiverWind River BasinWind RiverBig Horn CountyWind River BasinFremont CountyIrrigated AgricultureHot Springs CountyirrigationBig Horn CountyBighorn River BasinWind RiverAccess constraints: NoneUse constraints: This data set was created specifically for us in the Wyoming Water Development Commission's Wind/Bighorn River Basins Plan and was designed for use in regional analyses at a 1:24,000-scale.These data were generated for use in conjunction with the Wind/Bighorn River Basin Plan. Once attributed the irrigated lands were digitized and place into an ArcView 3.2a shapefile.
